Methodology & Risk Disclosure

Important information about how SFZ Capital's tools work, the limitations of automated trading, and the risks you should understand before using the platform.

What SFZ Capital Is

SFZ Capital is a software platform that provides tools for creating, backtesting, and deploying automated trading strategies. We are a technology company â€- not a financial advisor, broker-dealer, or investment manager.

How Our Tools Work

Strategy Creator: A visual interface for defining trading rules using technical indicators (EMA, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, ATR). You set entry conditions, exit conditions, stop-losses, position sizes, and other parameters.

Backtesting Engine: Tests your strategy against historical market data. Results include metrics like win rate, Sharpe ratio, max drawdown, and individual trade logs. Backtests use historical data and cannot account for future market conditions.

Live Trading: Connects to Alpaca Markets API to execute trades based on your strategy rules. Paper trading mode is available for risk-free testing with simulated funds.

AI Forecasting: An optional feature that uses machine learning to generate directional predictions with confidence intervals. These are supplementary signals, not trading recommendations.

Critical Risk Disclosure

Trading financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss. Automated trading does not eliminate this risk â€- it automates the execution of your choices. You can lose some or all of your invested capital.

Paper Trading Recommendation

We strongly recommend all new users start with paper trading (simulated money) before deploying strategies with real capital. This allows you to validate your approach, understand the platform, and build confidence without financial risk.
